What is your name?
Gordonius Maximus Renius

What do you do for a living in 10 words or less?
Introduce people to other people

Where do you currently reside?
Glasgow

  1. What has been the best piece of advice you have received so far in your career?
It was actually a simple thing that has stuck with me for a decade now, every year pull together a Personal Development Plan with 6-month, 1-year and 5-year goals.  I think it is too easy to coast by without trying to grow or develop as an adult.

  1. What would you want to tell your 20-year-old self-knowing what you know now?
Don’t stress about what you want to do, just focus on the day to day and say yes more.

  1. What would you class as your biggest achievement so far?
It’s recent and soppy but it would have to be the birth of my daughter back in March.  Still can’t believe I’m a dad, poor wee Rey.

  1. Have there been any people in your career that have influenced or inspired you?
I’ve been really lucky to be honest with some of the people I have been influenced by in my career so far.  From a young age, I always saw my dad working hard in setting up his own business and he still works 7 days a week.  Other than my dad I’d have to say a couple of guys I worked with in Australia.  Rick Besso, who gave me my first opportunity in Australia and Wes Leo who as a young guy took a big risk as a young father to start his own farm.  All three of these guys work hard and solve problems on a daily basis with a cracking sense of humour.

  1. Who did you idolise when growing up?
Got to be my dad, when I was a kid I always remember how he had loads of mates, everyone loved him, he was always playing pranks and I got to go and watch him play football most weeks.

  1. What memories do you have of your first ever job?
My paper run, I think I made between £80 and £100 per week as a 12-year-old.  I think cycling into a parked jeep at the bottom of a hill has to be the first thought that springs to mind about the paper run.

  1. What goals have you set for 2018 and beyond?
Plenty of goals but I really want to have a go at getting my private pilots licence in the next couple of years.

  1. If you could invite anyone (dead or alive) for dinner who would you invite and why?
Alex Ferguson, Al Pacino and Marcus Aurelius. Why…well sir Alex is an obvious one, I’d just love to hear his stories and pick his brain about football.  Al Pacino, simply because I’d love to see one of his famous rants that he has at least once in every film and Marcus Aurelius because the trials this guy faced in his time as Caesar were not for the faint hearted.

  1. Tell us something about yourself that not many people would know?
I was in the last 3 for a part in River City, right at the start of the production, I think the character is still in it.  I went out on a night out and then went straight to work in the Hilton at 5am and had my audition at 2pm and I was that tired I couldn’t read my lines never mind memorise them.  Over the moon about that now though.

  1. Which 2 teams do you think are going to make it to the World Cup final this year?
I’ll go for Germany and France.
