What is your name? Louise

What do you do for a living in 10 words? Strive to match the best people to their ideal position.

Where do you currently reside? Glasgow
  1. What memories do you have of your first ever job?
My first job was when I was 14, I worked in a café and I loved it – once I got past my initial shyness. It probably did more good for me than I would have ever realised at the time. I liked working in a team and being busy, I realised very early on that customer service was my bag.

  2. What would you want to tell your 20-year-old self-knowing what you know now? You don’t need to please everyone all the time. People are more interested in their own lives than what you are doing, don’t be so hard on yourself.
  3. Is there one book that you have read more than twice?
I have read multiple books more than twice, but I have reread Jurassic Park the most and I will recommend it to anyone who will listen.

  4. How did you land your current job?
My wonderful ex-colleague reached out to me, I was having a hard time in my then job and we have been friends ever since we worked together years ago, so it made perfect sense.

  5. How many interviews have you had in your career?
Not too many relatively, 4 or 5 in customer service type roles and around 8 or so for office based / recruitment type roles. For a nervous person, surprisingly I do not mind interviews. My philosophy is that it is a conversation where if both people are honest and like each other it generally works out one way or the other.

  6. What is an embarrassing thing that not many people would know about you?
Hmmm, lots probably. I was once on the cover of Glasgow Times newspaper, like a full front cover picture of me and my mum with our umbrella inside out due to a storm. I worked in a pub at the time and a regular came in with the paper, it was so embarrassing. Luckily Henrick Larsson signed for Manchester United that day and the picture was gone for the evening edition.

  7. What else do you want to achieve within your career?
Honestly I have never put that kind of pressure on myself, what is important to me is feeling like I am moving forward and contributing to something important. I want to be able to be proud of my actions and speak to interesting people and contribute some good ideas.

  8. Do you have any interesting hobbies/pastimes?
I am trying to learn the guitar, I am now in awe of people who can play the guitar well. I also like going to live music events and festivals.

  9. Do you have a favourite holiday destination?
    Croatia or New York

  10. Describe yourself in 3 words?
    Weird, Loyal and Loud
