Where do you want to work?

Where do you want to work?

 22 Mar 2018

Job hunting as we know can be hard and sometimes even painful.   Are we sometimes focusing on the wrong things when we start our search?

Since I started work, back in the day when I was a young 17 year old, I have worked for a mix of different companies large and small.  Like most, whenever I started my job search I would look online and apply to adverts that looked suitable and that paid a good salary but I never really thought about what the company I was applying for was like until I was preparing for an interview.   Having been in the working world for a number of years now I think the company you work for is so important and really should be thought about at the start of your job hunt.

Depending on what you are looking for from your career can very much depend on what types of companies you will apply for.    Why not start your next search differently and do some research, thinking about the companies you want to work for.  Think about what company culture you want, think about the people you want to work with and the size of organisation you want to be a part of.  Some people relish working in a large organisation whilst others much prefer a smaller more personal place of work, some want somewhere they can progress up the career ladder quickly some would rather settle in a role and mould it to their own.  Think about what industry you're in and then what companies within that industry you would be proud to work for.   If you think how much time you spend each week at your work, you really want to make sure its an environment you will enjoy and succeed in.
