Our client is looking for a Compliance Governance & Risk Officer to join their Compliance & Legal Department in Glasgow City Centre.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority’s regulations, specifically in relation to the Mortgage Conduct of Business rules
  • Previous experience in a mid-level compliance role within Financial Services
  • Previous corporate governance and risk management experience within Financial Services
  • Strong organisation skills, self-motivated, extremely well organised with the ability to manage to set deadlines
  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail, including preparing agendas, reviewing papers/MI, circulating papers and taking accurate minutes
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels of the business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as being part of a team
Corporate Governance
  • Oversee the internal and external governance committees and ensure they are managed effectively
  • Organise and schedule all internal and external governance meetings
  • Collate, verify and distribute documentation, including MI/reports and commentary, for all internal and external governance meetings
  • Produce minutes for all internal and external governance meetings
Risk Management
  • Provide support and guidance to the Board, Exec, Senior Management teams and the Head of Compliance in respect of the internal and external Risk Management framework
  • Responsible for identifying and managing the Compliance / regulatory risks
  • Oversee the Risk Log and escalation processes internally and externally
Policies / Key Documents
  • Lead, and implement, where appropriate, any changes that are required due to forthcoming regulatory developments, engaging with internal / external stakeholders
  • Maintain the matrix of approved policies / key documents and signed Document Change Records

  • Compliance monitoring activities
  • Develop a strong working relationship with employees in order to maintain an inclusive and respected compliance support function
  • Develop and maintain awareness of regulatory and legislative requirements, keeping abreast of forthcoming developments
  • Manage individual workload, ensuring key deadlines are met and tasks are prioritised appropriately
