Credit Control Manager required on a permanent basis to take responsibility for designing and implementing new policies and procedures and improving debt management across company. 
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • CICM Qualification or equivalent would be desirable but is not essential
  • Extensive experience in a Credit Control Manager or Credit Manager position
  • Experience of working with an international and cross currency company
  • Proven experience in a high-volume, fast-paced credit environment
  • Ability to manage a high-performing team
  • Experience of writing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software and MS Office products (specifically Excel)
  • Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict timelines.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Design and implement new policies and procedures in line with best practice
  • Develop and optimize credit control processes
  • Accountable for monitoring, collecting and escalating all outstanding debt
  • Develop and implement improvements in the credit control procedures and processes to drive working capital improvements
  • Work closely and communicate with all business units in Northern Marine Group
  • Formulate plans to reduce overdue debt
  • Own all debtor reporting across the business including the weekly/monthly preparation of debt reports and KPI reporting
  • Lead the Credit Control team, engage team member(s), develop skills, and set appropriate objectives and targets
  • Liaise with other departments in the business to ensure relevant debt recovery processes are being implemented and credit management capability is developed within the company
  • Build a close working relationship with other departments (incl. support team in India) and client Accounts Payable teams as required
  • Oversee and input into any requirements for bad debt provisions
  • Liaise with external parties as required (auditors / solicitors / debt management agency etc.)
  • Prepare reminder letters and escalation letters to litigation – ensuring accuracy and appropriateness
