We have an opportunity for a Crewing Manager to join our maritime client in Aberdeen, on a permanent basis. As Crewing Manager, you will have the overall responsibility for crewing activities on the fleet allocated and direct liaison with Client on all crewing activities.
As the Crewing Manager you will be directly responsible for the supervision of an assigned team, ensuring that the company’s vessels are manned with competent, qualified, and suitably experienced personnel.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Degree level or equivalent experience relating to Offshore HR or Marine Scheduling

Experience managing and leading crewing personnel

Understanding of Marine Industry regulatory and certification legislation including ISM, STCW and MLC 2006 (desirable)

Previous experience working within seagoing HR team for a ship management company (desirable)

Good written and verbal communication skills

Excellent MS Office skills
JOB DESCRIPTION

Directly responsible for the management of the crewing function, ensuring vessels are adequately manned with competent seafarers and compliance with Company safety management system.

Directly responsible for the day-to-day management of an appointed team and allocation of resources, ensuring that the company’s policies and standards are adhered to, including the administration, and tracking of annual leave and absence records.

In conjunction with line manager, develop a manpower strategy, ensuring Company Key Performance Indicators are incorporated.

Directly responsible for the management, implementation, and compliance of the manpower strategy.

Ensure the fleet complies with the latest requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).

Directly responsible for ensuring the assigned fleet have adequate union cover in place.

Management of the crewing system utilised for storing all required personnel records.

Direct liaison with, client, operations and technical departments, and external client representatives, on manning issues relating to employees and activities in support of company’s crewing operations.

Management responsibility for vessel running costs, ensuring adequate process and procedures are in place to achieve agreed budgets. Input and preparation of Crewing budgets.

Ensure adequate procedures are in place for adherence to charterers matrix.

Directly responsible for managing the development of employees within the team, ensuring the development of all direct reports is managed and recorded.

Input and preparation of crew budgets.

Conduct monthly manpower analysis, projections and prepare monthly and quarterly Marine HR KPI reports.

Prepare, monitor and review monthly the annual manning and crew travel budget analysis/OPEX reports for the fleet in liaison with the business control.

Support the preparation of quarterly budget reviews for specific customers.

Travel to Group Company offices as necessary for auditing etc.
