An opportunity has arisen with our client, a Paisley-based Charity operating for over 30 years. The role of the Finance Manager will be on a part-time basis, working 21 hours per week. This position will be a Senior Management role where the right candidate will drive the finance function forward—working closely with the CEO to develop budgets and provide reporting. Ideally, our client is looking for a Finance Manager who can provide good oversight of the business, produce the accounts, and prepare for audits.
  • Qualified Accountant / Account Technician, HND/HNC or equivalent
  • An understanding of the financial reporting and auditing requirements of charities and companies limited by guarantee
  • Previous experience working in the charity sector is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in operating a SAGE accounts system
  • Proven experience in producing management accounts, budgets and finance reports
  • Proven experience in managing an efficient credit control system
  • Have a flexible approach and be able to process transactions within the accounting system as and when required
  • Proven experience in supervising staff
  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • To manage the finance function of the organisation and provide an accurate and efficient service to all stakeholders.
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts and annual statuary accounts
  • Provide financial information for grant applications and funding returns
  • Prepare accounts to trial balance
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • To maintain an effective and efficient credit control system
  • To be responsible for the management and development of the accounting system (Sage) and oversee the work of the Finance Administrator
  • To maintain and develop effective accounting procedures
  • Distribute financial information to service managers
  • Oversee and manage the work of the department
  • Carry out any transactional processing as required
  • To play an active role in forward planning and decision making within the organisation as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • To work in a flexible way to suit the urgent or unforeseen requirements of the organisation
