Our client requires a General Manager to join their Aberdeen office.  As General Manager (North West Europe) you will have the P&L Operational and Commercial accountability for the NWE Region of operations.  You will be responsible for driving new business strategy, delivering financial results and effectively managing existing and prospective client relations.

  • North Sea Rig Experience
  • Ex-Chief Engineer
  • 5+ year’s marine operational & commercial experience at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced growing entrepreneurial Marine business.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Manage the regions onshore and offshore operations, ensuring contract continuity, day rate optimisation and company’s financial targets are met.
  • Manage the company’s premises and regional office in Aberdeen, motivating staff and ensuring compliance to company procedures for all personnel.
  • Drive compliance to company operating policies, standards and procedures throughout the region.
  • Ensure all technical, operational and commercial risks are identified, assessed and mitigated.
  • Drive profitability, whilst continually improving operational and safety standards to exceed client expectation.
  • Develop and manage the Region’s Operating Plan, budgets and revenue optimisation, manage and control operational cost, including office, crewing, repair and maintenance, dry-docking, logistics and mobilisation.
  • Ensure successful integration and alignment with other regions and functions across the company.
  • Ensure vessels comply with flag state, and all operations are always compliant with class and legislative requirements.
  • Manage key stakeholders including Clients, Suppliers, Employees and alignment with the Executive Directors of the Company in Abu Dhabi.
  • Provide regular operational performance and KPI status reports to the COO.
  • Monitor purchase and requisition systems in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Assist the Commercial Director in identifying and developing new and existing business.
  • Provide operational input into the preparation of bids and contractual documentation.
  • Monitor existing client and supplier contracts as regards escalation and contract review.
  • Advise the COO on client requirements for new build and acquisition programme and design of new or acquired marine assets.
 
HSE
  • Ensure personal comprehensive understanding of Safety Policies, company Safety Management System and HSEQA procedures ensuring they are fully implemented on and offshore throughout the region of operation.
  • Drive continual improvement of HSE, QA performance and operation of company Safety Management Systems in the region and deliver the Company HSE/QA targets and objectives.
  • Ensure correct response for any employee for failing to discharge their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Set a personal example about health and safety matters.
