We require an Industrial Process Engineer to join our London based client on a 6 month fixed term contract.  The Industrial Process Engineer ensures industrialization and introduction of new high reliability submerge products into production. Provides specification and tooling to ensure products can be reliably and consistently assembled and tested. Support the Production team to resolve process/assembly problems for new and existing products, to maintain production builds.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Engineering Degree.
  • Ability to make reliability engineering judgements under pressure
  • Fibre Optics knowledge and experience
  • Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
  • Organised, disciplined & methodical approach to problem solving
  • Motivated with strong interpersonal & team skills
  • Sound practical experience with Excel and Word
  • Use of Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Quality: ISO9001/TL9000, Lean, Six Sigma
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Works within a team for the successful introduction of new products into production and support to existing Submerge products.
  • Evaluates prototype parts/assembly of new designs and provide feedback on various issues to aid assembly procedure and design.
  • Reviews and validates contract documentation (Drawings, Bill of Materials) prior to release.
  • Defines tooling and equipment required to simplify the assembly of the product.
  • Writing of build Specifications for new and existing products, ensuring operations are carried out in the correct sequence, use of correct tooling and document is easily understood.
  • Ensures build and process specifications are approved and issued prior to Design Release to Manufacture meeting.
  • Sourcing of external equipment to aid and improved production operations.
  • Ensures tooling / equipment are procured to meet development and production plan
  • Defines initial standard build times for assembly process steps and create build step on the SAP system.
  • Attends products New Process Introduction (NPI) meetings (when necessary) and provide inputs into the minutes.
  • Instructs and advises operators in the assemble of the development and production unites.
  • Oversees / supervises production personnel during first off build of qualification units. Provides production support for new product start-up and day-to-day support. Provides practical application of mechanical, production, industrialisation and design knowledge to solve problems
  • Writes Extra Work Authorisation (EWA) for product investigations. Reviews Investigation Request (IR) and defines corrective actions to maintain production build.
  • When necessary, reviews and analysis production processes to improve efficiency, down time, reject rates and reduce standard times and cost
  • When necessary, conducts production processes audits on procedures to ensure all are compliant.
  • Leads/ participates in variety of Kaizen projects to reduce waste, improve standard build times and reduce production cost.
  • Understand and comply with the clean area environmental rules. Adhere to mandatory Quality and Safety procedures, including build documentation, ESD, Risk assessments, COSHH and Manual Handling regulations.
