Infection Risk Manager

We require an Infection Risk Manager for a 6 month fixed term contract, to join our client based in Gourock.
 
Reporting to the Head of Marine Standards, the Infection Risk Manager will be responsible for supporting the business with the development and implementation of a comprehensive infection risk management structure and the development and maintenance of operational protocols mitigating identified infection risks. The role will analyse the market to identify most effective technology to help manage infection risk and will support the business in delivering a safe and efficient service.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
 
Essential:
  • Educated to degree level in risk management in healthcare or equivalent experience in a senior role.
  • Extensive experience of working in a related senior manager position.
  • Experience in participating in the development of risk management strategy and initiatives.
  • Be conversant with qualitative and quantitative methods of risk management analysis.
  • Be conversant with differing risk management tool sets i.e. Predict, @Risk for Excel and Project.
  • Can demonstrate expertise in the application of risk management, review methods and their application.
  • Knowledge of business continuity management best practice.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and influence senior managers with a strategic approach.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and coach on initiatives to ensure a proactive risk management culture.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver complex multi-site projects.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of risk cost modelling and planning.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in mass transport organisations, preferably ferry services.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Management and HACCP methodologies.
  • Management of Risk (MoR) Practitioner.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Can demonstrate leadership and line management experience.
  • Experience of working in a ship operational environment.
  • Understands HSQE Management and related compliance functions.
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Responsible for the infection risk policy and process including development, implementation and monitoring to ensure the business fully understands the risks and issues it faces and focussing on a programme of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of hazard and operability studies concerning all our operations including (but not limited to): in ports, onboard vessels, at third-party maintenance facilities, in workshops and in our offices.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of operational protocols that mitigate infection risk.
  • Responsible for the business continuity process related to infection risks and plan to drive contingency and action planning.
  • Maintain the Terms of Reference for the COVID tactical working group and act as chair of that group.
  • Set Infection Risk Management objectives and monitor KPI’s as documented in the Infection Risk Management Manual.
  • Report to the Strategic Infection Risk Forum on the performance of the infection risk protocols using through KPI reporting.
  • Investigate and analyse new and upcoming risks mitigation measures and report on feasibility of implementation within our operations.
  • Ensure Government policy and guidance, including the introduction of a vaccination programme is promulgated through our HazOps and our operational protocols.
  • Will promote, advocate and advise on the application of benchmarked best practice that is fit for purpose for each particular business area, and will work with business owners to ensure that those practices are applied.
  • Design and implement new risk and issue register templates with assist with cost and schedule quantitative assessments.
  • Liaise with all operational departments and external specialists.
  • Attend key industry conferences and focus groups.
