Junior Project Manager

Our growing Financial Services client has an opening for a Junior Project Manager who will report to Head of Projects, focusing on business change and formal project delivery, both technical & non-technical.
The Junior Project Manager will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple digital change projects underway. As such, the Junior Project Manager role will suit someone who is ambitious, success driven, able to hone project expertise and benefit from excellent exposure and development opportunities.
  • Experience in Financial services, ideally Mortgage Lending
  • First-hand experience of all key elements of project and change delivery for both Business and digital projects; including coordinating and chairing stakeholder workshops, documenting complex requirements, asking the right questions and distilling into deliverables, excellent planning skills and experience of creating test plans, working with the SMEs to ensure outcomes meet expectations, managing implementation and readiness activities and adhering to governance controls including record keeping, approvals and sign off processes.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management, balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness
  • Effective report writing and communication skills
  • Attention to detail & consistent – same high standards, right first-time goal for every deliverable
  • Technically literate, with advanced Excel and Project software skills with ability to learn new systems quickly

  • Manage projects & change through the full life cycle, from initiation through to implementation
  • Develop the design and delivery of the project scope and create detailed delivery plans
  • Create business cases and user stories
  • Communicate progress updates, milestone summaries and overall project progress
  • Document business requirements clearly and gain approval and sign offs
  • Co-ordinate workstream activities, agree milestones and gather updates from business / project team members
  • Maintain change logs and RAID logs, identify & escalate risk or threats appropriately
  • Proactively prepare the business for readiness ahead of the change being implemented
  • Ensure agreed methods, standards and processes are maintained throughout the change & project lifecycle
  • Creating procedures and knowledge documentation for hand over to Training / other departments to support the implementation of change
  • Ensure all 3rd party suppliers are engaged appropriately
