We are recruiting for a Land Cable Engineer to join our client based in South-East London.
The Land Cable Engineer will be responsible for providing survey, engineering and supervision for Land Cable/System Earth Installation and Jointing Operations managed by the Marine Department.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT 
  • A minimum of 2 experience within a similar related role.
  • Engineering Background.
  • Project Planning.
  • Knowledge of fibre optics and electrics.
  • Knowledge of CAD and SAP software.
  • Prepared to travel and work in foreign countries.
JOB DESCRIPTION  
  • Plans individual projects within the project budget (FCAC Forecast Cost At Completion), project planning targets and cost management.
  • Liaises with customers or customer’s representatives about the planning.
  • Identifies suitable local resources and manages local subcontractors.
  • Conducts site surveys including earth resistivity measurements and produces as-built reports.
  • Designs Land Cable and System Earth installations and defines the implementation.
  • Produces “Scopes of Work” for installation including Land Route Diagrams. Writes detailed technical Methods of Procedures (MoP).
  • Tests un-repeated system, both on land and at sea.
  • Jointing and testing of land cable, installation and testing system earths.
  • Liaises with the Calais Cable factory and Project Industrial Manager for planning and organization of the project.
  • Completes H&S Risk Assessments and applies strictly H&S procedures and rules.
