Our global shipping client is recruiting for a Marine HR Manager to join their team in Glasgow.
The Marine HR Manager has overall responsibility from a strategic perspective but also for ensuring the effective running of all aspects of Marine HR for the Gas Fleet including: 1) marine HR operations; 2) recruitment of sea staff at all levels; 3) training of new and existing sea staff and 4) the efficient running of the training centre.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Previous experience in a senior Marine HR shore position.

Seafaring background in a senior rank is strongly preferred.

Strong people management, organisation, and leadership skills.

Understanding of manning functions within the organisation.

Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.

Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a changing environment.

Knowledge of marine training and certification legislation and requirements.

Familiar with industry regulations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Accountability for the day-to-day operations from a marine HR perspective.

Responsibility for devising and overseeing the implementation of a recruitment and training/development strategy for sea staff.

Overall responsibility for the management of Company’s accredited competency management system.

Realising the potential of training centres and ensuring smooth and efficient running of the same.

Interfacing with Company manning offices and approved agencies.

Ensuring legislation/regulation monitoring and compliance within the marine HR team.

Internal compliance with existing policies, developing, and implementing new policies as required.

Structuring the team and resources in an effective manner to ensure all key aspects of marine HR are proactively addressed.
