The Marine Manager (Assurance and Vetting) is responsible for the management of the global customer and oil major acceptability of all managed LNG vessels. The role requires the management and control of all assurance related activities including vetting, port and flag state inspections, and TMSA to ensure operational continuity.
 
The role supports the Fleet Operations and requires active engagement with various Fleet personnel, ashore and afloat as well as other Business Units and corresponding customer contacts on an ongoing basis.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Previous sailing experience preferably on Oil / Gas Tankers to a Senior Rank.
  • Sound knowledge in international maritime regulations and industry standards and HSEQ practices.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise critical work; work quickly and in high-pressure environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in the marine and vetting industry including OCIMF Sire inspection process, and other relevant industry processes including software applications, web pages and questionnaires.
  • Adept people-management, analytical, problem-solving, time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner, and to represent the company effectively in external meetings and forums.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with customer and oil major vetting and assurance teams, and flag states acting as the focal point for the company and attending key meetings and conferences as required.
  • Work closely with all members of the Gas Fleet to ensure vessels are effectively inspected and promote industry best practices and Operational Leadership.
  • Manage External Inspection processes, liaising with relevant stakeholders and ensuring inspections are planned, analysed, responded to and closed out in accordance with requirements and vessels are acceptable to external parties.
  • Ensure Owner’s responses to external inspections are properly compiled, consistent in standard and quality, and protect the brand and liaise with key stakeholders for follow up and close out of inspections in a timely manner.
  • Train, coach and mentor sea and shore staff in the complete vetting process.
  • Oversee completion and submission of vessel screening/ vetting/ commercial questionnaires or other clearance requests and assist Commercial Operations in managing issues with Charterers/Oil majors involving vessel screening.
  • Manage relevant applications and databases and oversee the accuracy and timely submission of data into Q88, OCIMF and other relevant databases.
  • Lead and oversee the TMSA process including TMSA review and submission; management of external audits and ensuring assignment and follow up of necessary actions within the Operations Team
  • Maintain an overview of customer and industry Crew Experience Matrices and Time Charter Party vetting requirements for LNG Fleet customer portfolio.
  • Compile, maintain, trend and review data, reports and statistics for vetting and external inspections and take actions to improve, or drive high-end performance, identifying and communicating areas of high risk.
  • Support the Emergency Response Team as directed.
  • Assist with post-incident management and close-out with relevant parties to ensure minimum commercial disruption including managing notification of incidents to vetting and assurance groups of Customers, Oil Majors and Flag.
  • Provide support and back up to the Marine Managers as required.
  • Any other additional requirement as directed by Line Manager.
