The National Account Manager will report directly to the Head of National Accounts and will be responsible for a defined group of national accounts; delivering the budgeted volume, value and gross margin through working with the accounts and developing a strategic approach to the relationship.
 
The National Account Manager is the main point of contact for these accounts, dealing with sales enquiries and providing assistance in operational/underwriting queries.  They will be responsible for delivering the budget requirements and the execution of the category and product strategies. This role takes ownership of their allocated accounts, to develop, negotiate and agree growth plan for our client’s product category.  This is an external sales role based from home.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Proven ability to build strong meaningful relationships with internal colleagues and external business partners. 
  • Experience of working within business processes and products and supporting the development of new ones as required 
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years of successful commercial experience within the mortgages/Financial Services industry at key account level.
  • You have a well-developed analytical conceptual and synthetic mindset. At the same time, you are pragmatic, problem-solving and looking for initiative 
  • You are ambitious, energetic, driven and open to receive and give challenges 
  • You are a well-structured and have strong organisational and negotiation skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate and support effective business planning
  • Effective negotiation skills and the ability to drive excellence in execution
  • Ability to take complex business issues or initiatives and apply creative problem solving or strategies
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Expanding the company's relationship with the accounts by coordinating all inter-company communication and activity.
  • Maximising the future potential of the accounts by compiling, agreeing and implementing account plans in line with Company strategy
  • Ensuring smooth running of administration through timely and accurate completion of all account reports
  • Consistently deliver innovative solutions ahead of competitors
  • Maintain, retain & grow existing accounts
  • Networking across all levels within the Accounts to maximise business opportunities 
  • Create effective communication channels with all client stakeholders, including business owners, finance & other senior management and directors 
  • Ensure Account development plans for each client are continually updated with all current and relevant information, including mutual objectives and performance reviews 
  • Undertake quarterly reviews of all business plans 
  • To develop, set and achieve sales targets through understanding internal and external stakeholder/competitor positions, criteria and products with the HONA
  • Promote existing and new product and criteria developments to both new and existing accounts
  • Identify market trends, requirements and feedback to support shape our product offerings.
  • Identify and maximise opportunities for change requirements with policy/product/process/performance measures 
  • Development of existing accounts and generating new business from new accounts identified 
  • Ensure compliance with all company, legislative and regulatory requirements by ensuring that all policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed
