Our client in Port Glasgow is looking to recruit a night-shift Permit Coordinator. You will be responsible for general work authorisation and permitting and defining the conditions within the permit.
The Night Shift is Monday – Thursday: 8.30 pm-6 am.
  • Ideally experience in, ship-yard, large capital equipment construction, oil, gas or any associated industries where significant levels of high-risk activity are carried out requiring strict Permit to Work (PTW) controls
  • Whilst specific PTW coordination experience is not required, a recognition of the need for uncompromising high levels of conformance is required, which can be developed into the administration of a PTW system and assessment of working practice risk and reduction of hazardous environments
  • A reasonable level of IT capability in order to write reports and enter data

  • Ensure the PTW system is implemented within the company Health & Safety guidelines
  • Co-ordinate activities relating to daily permits
  • Assess work permits to ensure all information has been correctly provided to the required standard and liaise with departments as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all control measures have been put in place prior to the issue of the PTW.
  • Audit PTW documentation for correct implementation with regards to recommended controls for safe working conditions.
  • Ensure closure of all PTW’s after satisfactory completion of the job.
  • Audit ongoing jobs to ascertain whether the work progressing safely as per PTW requirements.
  • Ensure gas testing and entry requirements are adhered to and carried out, prior to and during the course of the working day.
  • Maintain, ‘bump test’ and issue gas monitors.
  • Help to drive responsible behaviour and instil a culture of Safety, Health & Environment throughout the organization, including continuous improvement of Safety standards.
  • Work in conjunction with the wider HSE team to improve compliance
