Our clients Production department requires a Pipe Manager to join them in the US (East Coast)
 
As Pipe Manager you will need to ensure all piping scope of works are achieved in accordance with the requirements and timeframe, and in compliance with client’s specifications and established standards.  You will also be required to supervises and coordinate all piping activities, utilizing exemplary expertise in the application of systematic and scientific work methods, standards and procedures.
 
Duties will also include:
  • Interpreting specifications and discussing deviations from specified piping procedures and or method statements to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspection plans and procedures.
  • Evaluate capabilities of craftsmen including machines and equipments and ensures all assigned duties are performed competently to achieve objectives.
  • Coordinates in the planning procedures of piping based on starting and completion for each phase of job, ensuring priority deviations are resolved.
  • Liaises with Supervisors, Foreman and Quality Control to ensure the optimum interface of the various operational activities.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and standards and that, piping schedules are adhered to
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • A Pipe background with at least City and Guilds Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in shipbuilding and/or ship conversions including drydock repairs gained from working in Shipyards with a minimum 7 years in a supervisory position
  • A minimum of 5 years production management experience in shipbuilding or related heavy industry, including experience running a team of supervisors
  • Fully conversant in the techniques required for production/resource planning and departmental budget/cost control including fluency in computer applications
  • Time management skills
  • Possess a good problem-solving technique within a marine engineering environment
  • Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills enabling the successful candidate to motivate those working with him/her
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of all related computer applications
