Our Oil & Gas Offshore Vessel Operator client, are currently recruiting for a Port Engineer, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE to lead the development and improvement of the planned maintenance system.
 
A Port Engineer will be required to ensure technical uptime is maximised and to prevent loss of revenue due to technical failures as well as conducting vessel technical audits and ensuring planned maintenance is carried out.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Minimum four years of experience in the rank of Chief Engineer on self-propelled jack ups
  • Excellent knowledge of ISPS, ISM, Flag State and Classifications Society procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems
  • People management skills preferably gained from working in a multicultural environment
  • Proven track record in intermediate and special dry dockings, ship repair, mobilisation/demobilisation of vessels and barges and new builds
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to interact with and satisfy client requirements
  • STCW Class III/2 Certificate of Competency. (CoC must remain valid throughout the employment period)
  • Chief Engineer STCW-95 Unlimited Regulation III/2 (white list)
  • Experience in a senior rank on a similar type of vessel.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Promote an incident free safety culture with 100% internal and external customer satisfaction
  • The role is responsible for technical supervision of vessels operating in UAE waters
  • Ensuring that all vessels are maintained in a safe operating condition
  • Ensuring planned maintenance is executed in accordance with the maintenance management system
  • Undertake offshore inspections of vessels and barges as per company procedures and prepares written reports for management review
  • Participate in the selection of offshore engineering crew
  • Liaison with fleet operations to monitor and report vessel maintenance budgets
  • Ensure project deadlines are met in an effective and efficient manner
  • Contribute to company continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure vessels are in compliance with Class, IMO local regulations at all times
  • Participate/interface with various company meetings, support departments and external stakeholders/vendors
  • Recommend and implement cost savings
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve environmental performance and improve operational efficiency
  • Mentor & develop senior technical officers onboard UAE vessels
