We require a Procurement Specialist to join our client on a fixed term contract, initially for 3 months (but with a possibility of going perm).  You will be required to undertake Procurement and Supply Chain activities in support of the management and control of all expenditure areas. Provide Purchasing System Administration and ensure all user records and levels of access are maintained and controlled.
  • HND or equivalent qualification together with relevant experience is required
  • Studying towards full membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supplies is desirable
  • Experience of Contract negotiations is desirable
  • Relevant experience in Supply Chain position is desirable
  • Working knowledge of the Supply Chain and contract processes and European and National legislation
  • Aware on new technological and best practice advances in supply chain
  • Experience of working within a Public Sector Procurement role is essential
  • Assist in the formulation, negotiation and management of a defined range of market areas to secure the best terms, conditions and financial outcome for the Company
  • Assist in the administration of the commercial aspects of contracts including supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, recommendation, placement, variation management, claim management and performance monitoring
  • Assist in developing supply chain strategies that will underpin Company objectives. Assist with implementing Supply Chain Strategies, deliverables and agreed targets for market areas
  • Provide regular and pro-active liaison and support to internal and external customers. Assist with establishing new arrangements for transactional activity
  • Ensure all materials procured meet the Company’s requirements of suitability for purpose, quality, safety and price
  • Support strategies to achieve targeted savings, performance improvement and supplier rationalisation
  • Responsible for providing a Purchasing System Administration that ensures all user records and levels of access are maintained and controlled and support further development of the Company Purchasing System
  • Responsible for control of agency fuel cards
  • Expedite orders with suppliers and ensure supplier price lists are updated. Undertake other duties as directed
