Project Engineer required to join our client, based in Dundee, to plan, organise and manage operational projects, training assignments, and act as a client focal point throughout a project span.  The Project Engineer will also ensure effective communications are established between departments for an efficient operational project delivery.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Project Management and supervision experience (Project Management Qualification is highly desirable)
  • Oil and Gas experience, with excellent knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry
  • Operational and Technical background
  • Professional trainer certified
  • Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
  • Must have ability to work under pressure and without supervision.
  • Ability to link long-range visions and concepts to daily work
  • Good communication skills, written skills and ability to give presentations
  • Excellent customer facing skills
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management
  • Manage projects throughout whilst ensuring scope, strategy and time line expectations
  • Effectively manage changes to project scope(s) and/or objective(s) to the client and to the project team
  • Develop project specific documentation
  • Determine resource requirements including material and manpower to deliver projects and ensure this is shared with management for planning purposes.
  • Establish and manage associated project time lines
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, co-ordinating project phases and finding solutions to project issues
  • Evaluate that project requirements are attainable and ensure traceability of requirements, quality of service and product
  • Ensure project meets internal and client expectations in relation to quality, delivery time scales and strategy
  • Identify, track, manage and mitigate risks on client specific work scopes and escalate any issues when necessary to minimise impact
  • Where project control is in jeopardy, create contingency plans with appropriate assistance from key team members and implement a revised project schedule in a timely manner
  • Work with Commercial Projects & Training Manager to ensure that clients achieve an understanding of expectations, risks and project progress
  • Be prepared to discuss project quality, client and team satisfaction, project progression and success during scheduled and ad hoc project review meetings with the Commercial Projects & Training Manager
  • Conduct customer visits, site surveys and demonstrations when required
  • Use sound judgment in all project communication and ensure that the team, client and management are apprised of project activities in a timely manner
  • Determine project roles of team members (in conjunction with Commercial Projects and Training Manager) based on project requirements
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management
  • Fulfil training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties and assist in personal development
  • Liaise with the technicians to ensure understanding of client and project requirements and provide the necessary field documentation
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationship and where possible set up project close out meetings to gather any feed-back and ensue lessons learned are communicated
  • Travel within the UK and Internationally
  • Make a proactive contribution to the successful implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and processes
