Our Scottish Shipbuilding client requires a Project Engineer.
The Project Engineer will be responsible to oversee technical and engineering shipbuilding projects to assure a high level of accuracy and quality. Translate requirements into implementable tasks with practical timelines. Manage technical information and material flow to feed manufacturing, and manage subcontractor packages for cost, time and quality.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent.

Relevant experience in a similar type role with at least 4 years in major project environments such as heavy engineering.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, translate drawings into actionable process information and develop plans successfully.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to cultivate good relationships.

Excellent analytical and judgement skills and the ability to develop budgets and track expenditures including sub-contracting hours.

Be initiative and the ability to set and meet deadlines.

Computer literate – knowledge of MS Teams and excellent MS Excel skills.

Excellent understanding of project controls processes such as MRP/ERP systems

Effective communication and networking skills with social confidence, good team worker.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Assisting the Project Manager to achieve the overall project programme, within time, cost and quality.

Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering work packages with technical information and materials.

Resolving any problems with plans, material flow and subcontractors to ensure that the project flows smoothly.

Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented.

Working with subcontractors to develop viable time scales and avoid clashes with other working parties.

Following the effective change and risk processes and procedures.
