Our ship management client requires Corporate Purchasing Officer to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Minimum of 1 year’s office experience within a Purchasing Team
  • Good knowledge of Purchasing principles
  • Educated to National 5 level (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Methodical and an analytical thinker
  • Good knowledge of MS packages including Excel and Word
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Ensuring competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and associated administration processes.
  • Providing a consistent level of service in the sourcing of quality goods and services to the group Companies.
  • Sourcing, selecting, and negotiating the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, delivery, and services.
  • Providing internal clients with pricing and supplier information when required, and proactively analyse the market for potential new suppliers.
  • Identifying areas for cost savings with all tasks performed and reporting this data to the Purchasing Controller.
  • Interacting effectively with all entities within the Business.
  • Providing regular feedback on vendor performance.
  • Supporting the Purchasing Controller with day to day requirements as and when required.
  • Supporting the wider Purchasing team with project work as required
  • You may be asked from time to time to undertake tasks that are not associated with you role as and when required.
