We require a Quality Manager to join our client based in London. The manager is responsible for product quality, operational quality process development and compliance.
 
In line with the businesses plan, develop and implement a Lean strategic and tactical vision for manufacturing and address business compliance, best business practice, a quality culture and driving improvements. Ensure all Customer returns are administered, investigations are undertaken, and lesson learned are applied and develop and sustain business and department key performance indicators.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
 
  • Supply Chain Management knowledge.
  • Quality Auditor qualification and experience.
  • 8+ years’ experience in quality management position, having led a team(s) of people of 4 plus in a manufacturing environment.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Lean Green Belt certification.
  • Proven experience working within a Cleanroom environment.
  • With a background in either; Aerospace, Medical Devices, Consumer Items, Defence or Telecommunications.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
  • Ensure Operational Compliance – Manufacturing compliance (TL9000) to the business management system.
  • Develop and audit internal processes and procedures to demonstrate business compliance. 
  • Undertake internal management reviews and ensure business KPIs are in-place and action are being undertaken when the desired outcome is not achieved.
  • Manage the process of verification of all built units.
  • Ensure internal and external (customer) requirements have been achieved and all build, inspection, test and release protocols are compliant.
  • Represent the customer in Factory Acceptance Test.
  • Support all investigation ensuring root cause and lesson learnt are identified.
  • Facilitate Business Improvements – Tactical and strategic deployment of Lean practices within the business:
    • Business process improvements and tangible financial savings.
    • Internal business cost savings through process improvements, using Jidoka, Kaizan, Greenbelt methodologies and subsequent effectiveness reviews.
    • Support a quality and development culture by delivering lean white and yellow belt training along with the site’s quality induction.
  • Develop a quality culture and ensure all employees take accountability for their activities and actions.
  • Develop a tactical roadmap to deliver a business with a quality culture and ensure the department lead by example on good ethical conduct.
  • Develop the quality team – empower staff to make decisions and change from a quality control to a quality assurance attitude.
  • Coaching staff through the process and mentoring if required, ensuring significant cross training is implemented allowing the team to operate as a single unit.
  • Ensure all returning items back to Greenwich are fully investigated and a report is provided to the Customer.
  • Ensure root cause is identified, corrective action and preventative action is undertaken along with lessons learned database updated and shared with engineering.
