Recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Ship Management client, based in Glasgow.
 
The Senior HR Advisor will provide a proactive robust and comprehensive service for the HR team, line management and employees within the Company’s Groups. This role will work closely with HR Business Partners executing operational plans in line with the business strategy and taking the lead on HR project plans and initiatives.
 
The position holder will be proactive in resolving complex and challenging cases whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedure, policies, and employment legislation. As Senior HR Advisor you will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, developing new processes, procedures and practice ensuring implementation across all business functions.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
 
Essential:
  • Both CIPD and relevant Degree qualified, with 4/5 years’ experience at Advisory level.
  • Ability to lead on ER matters and strong case management experience.
  • Experience of working with, and delivering under, a wellbeing strategy.
  • Successful resolution of grievances/mediation experience.
  • Experience of leading HR projects/initiatives.
  • Must have experience working on key / complex projects and can manage them on their own.
  • Have experience working alongside Senior Management etc., dealing with the project from start to finish.
  • Can liaise effectively with Head of Departments, Stakeholders etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR (best) practice and solid HR generalist experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation (current and future).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to influence at all levels, and to adapt and react within fast pace environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Track record of project delivery to tight deadlines.
  • An optimistic, helpful, and assertive HR professional.
 
Desirable:
  • Line management experience.
  • Commercial orientation.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
 
  • Be the first point of contact for managers and employees.
  • To guide and support policies, processes, payroll, performance management and general HR queries.
  • Leading the delivery of key HR projects – implementing and coordinating project timelines.
  • Monitoring and coordinating key HR initiatives.
  • Working with the HR Officer and HR Business Partners supporting with case management and employee relation queries.
  • Management of employment issues (including contracts and benefits) relating to the employees of assigned companies.
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners in coaching and mentoring line managers where performance concerns have been identified, ensuring robust management of Probation and PIP processes.
  • Assistance with the maintenance of the shared HR Admin mailbox.
  • Support with HRIS – ensuring accuracy in the maintenance and updating of data for employee records, including data analysis for business monthly reports.
  • Reconciliation of payroll.
  • Support in coaching and mentoring the HR Officer and HR Assistants.
  • Monitor and analyse training completion for both mandatory and developmental records for all Business Units; updating in line with defined matrix.
  • Supporting international HR projects as and when required; recommending process improvements.
  • Business Unit support as and when required.
