Our Glasgow based client are recruiting for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer who will report to the Network and Infrastructure Manager and be responsible for designing, administering, implementing, troubleshooting, and analyzing global IT Infrastructure, including all on-premise and cloud base technologies, and identifying improvements on an ongoing basis.
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will also be expected to handle the mentoring, skills transfer, training and timescales and deadlines for IT Infrastructure Junior Colleagues within the department.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

HND in I.T related discipline or equivalent

Specializes in either Server, networking, or computing
-
Substantial demonstrable experience within IT Network and Infrastructure role and be able to evidence a structured approach to tackling IT Infrastructure projects successfully

Holds a high level of technical knowledge and expertise which can only be gained through years of industry experience, in order to produce high quality solutions without guidance, mentor more junior members of the team, troubleshoot and investigate day to day system issues and follow process

Advanced knowledge of all core infrastructure technologies, including: experience of Microsoft server technologies up to server 2019, Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Microsoft Office 365

Strong Network and Comms Skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all, global, IT Infrastructure across the Company

Responsible for the full project lifecycle including proposal, design, implementation, testing and roll-out

Provide 3rd line support as required on operation issues and projects

Prioritisation of workloads and conflicting demands
-
Collaborate with SITO on group infrastructure and Projects
-
Liaise with business stakeholders when required and provide regular feedback when working on a project
-
Manage project costs and report these to the IT Network and Infrastructure Manager/ IT Manager for the discrete work packages assigned

Work with minimal supervision

Document projects when completed for handover to support

Act as a mentor to help develop more junior members of the team

Identify IT solutions to provide time and cost efficiencies, leading to long term financial benefits

Work with the IT Network and Infrastructure Manager and IT Management Team to assist in the IT Infrastructure strategy moving forward
