We require a Senior Overhaul Technical Manager to join our client based in Gourock. Responsible to the Fleet Technical Overhaul Operations Manager, the Senior Overhaul Technical Manager will lead the asset team responsible for managing the fleets annual overhauls and offer support to projects.
In addition, the Senior Overhaul Technical Manager will work as an integral part of the Overhaul Operations team, fostering an effective working relationship with others within and outside of the Company. Lastly, the Senior Overhaul Technical Manager will act as team lead for the planning and overseeing of Annual Overhauls and Vessel Upgrades and Projects associated with the Company’s Vessel Fleet, including the maintaining of budgets and procedures as outlined in the Company Management System.
As Technical Manager, you will be able to work remotely, however please note that network travel and occasional travel to the head office in Gourock will be required.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Experience in planning and managing vessel annual overhauls and dry docking preferable but not essential.

Holds a higher sea going engineering qualification or other equivalent qualification.

Experience and knowledge with major ro-ro vessel, in conjunction with ship repair yard experience, is highly advantageous.

Demonstratable experience in all aspects of vessel overhauls/dockings and projects.

Knowledge and experience of specification writing and budget planning.

An ability to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Excellent organisation of personal workload in response to priorities, in addition to demonstratable PC system, administrative and communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Management of department processes should be in line with company expectations, ensuring consultation is completed with relevant process reviewers when adding, amending, deleting, and reviewing owned processes. In conjunction with the Technical Overhaul team, lead and assist the planning, supervision and coordination function for the vessel fleet overhauls.

To plan and coordinate maintenance for major vessel fleet annual overhauls in conjunction with planning and coordination of spares, service providers and third parties.

Assist the project team with modifications, upgrades & projects.

To support Continual Improvement Process within planning function of Asset Management.

Ensuring that the annual overhaul specification is prepared, agreed, costed and that quotations are submitted in the required timelines for approval by the Fleet Technical Overhaul Operations Manager.

Complete vessel visits to enable planning for overhauls.

Establishing budget, cost control and supervision of suppliers and contractors to ensure all work is carried out with the objective of achieving a fully reliable and operational vessel to the agreed specification.

Ensuring that correct process and governance are adhered to with budget control and management, in addition to public procurement rules to ensure timely purchase and installation of required equipment.

Maintain strong relationships with all business departments but specifically working closely within their own department, service delivery, finance, procurement and HSQE.

Act as liaison between the company, contractors, classification society, and flag state on related overhaul works.

Utilise communication and influencing skills to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Any other duties required by the head of asset management.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER
Salary £52,000 - £74,000 plus benefits.
