The Ship Support Technician will be responsible for first and second line support for all I.T systems and services for our client, a large ship-owner/manager based in Glasgow.
Main Responsibilities
  • Installation, maintenance and support, in and outside of office hours, based in our Head Office, other remote offices or onboard one of our 100 supported vessels worldwide.
  • Hands-on installation of Servers, PC’s and Printers
  • Hands-on installation of wireless and wired networks, including cabling.
  • 1st and 2nd line support of remote users
  • Remote assistance of hardware and software errors.
This role will involve a lot of travelling to various destinations around the world. To be considered you must have a current clean UK driving license and Current UK Passport.
  • Minimum College certification in relevant discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in second line support role
  • Experience of Active Directory
  • Experience of network monitoring software
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers, MS Office packages and networking
  • Good customer facing skills
  • Windows 7 and Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016
  • MS Office 2010/2013
  • TCP/IP and Networking – Theory and Practical
  • Experience of satellite communication
  • Experience of WDS imaging of Windows PCs and Servers
  • Hyper-V / Virtualisation
