SLTE Production Support Engineer

Recruiting for an SLTE Production Support Engineer to join our client’s team, based in South-East London.
The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for testing and fault-finding at component level, and work with the Test Team on a wide variety of products at PCD, General Assembly and System Levels.
  • Junior Level / Graduate candidate with 3 – 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree in Optics and/or Electronics & Communications.
  • Extensive Optical/Electronic knowledges (Communications Network/Protocols, Spectral Analysis).
  • Ability to understand investigation tools (wires, RCA, read schematics and circuit diagrams / boards and lean tool kit).
  • Troubleshooting and fault-finding at component level.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive product testing and report writing skills.
  • Experience of testing complex PCB's, Optical Modules, and Microprocessor-based Equipment.
  • Use of both bench test equipment and automated test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeter, Couplers, Wavelength Meter).
  • To be able to communicate accurately on technical issues with internal customers (internal or external) both written and verbal.
  • Assess production failures, including work on customer returns.
  • Links in with the R&D team in France and the Industrialisation team that takes the prototypes and turns this into the final product. 
  • Communicate with the team to say how product is working, what the failures are, what re-design is required.
