Working as Supplier & Contracts Manager, on a 1 yr fixed term contract, you will be based in Gourock as part of a dynamic team supporting the Technical and Operational management of the companys’ Fleet. The role will appeal to a professional and commercially astute individual with significant experience of supply chain and contract management.
 
You will work closely with Technical Managers & Superintendents in both Asset Management and Technical Services, vessel based management teams, internal specialists (e.g. Procurement) and external stakeholders (e.g. vessel owners, ship repair yards, suppliers etc.)
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Ideally qualified to degree level in a business, or commercial subjects; or, be highly experienced in commercial & business management of high value engineering, or marine, projects
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in all aspects of commercial & contract management in technical and engineering projects
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to foster close working relationships both internally and with external suppliers
  • Demonstrate experience and/ or understanding of marine industry contracting conventions and processes
  • Have excellent analytical and commercial problem solving skills, coupled with strong communication, influencing and collaborative working skills
  • Strong MS office skills are essential (especially MS Excel)
  • Experience of working in a Marine related industry desired but not essential
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Support the development and implementation of the Asset Management Business Strategy for Technical Supply chain
  • Provide expertise and contribution to the production, management and control of the departments commercial objectives including procurement plans in conjunction with the procurement department
  • Provide expertise and contribution to the development of the company procurement strategy as required / in collaboration with  procurement department 
  • Responsible for the production of technical supplier specification’s
  • Support the development of the commodity strategy as required / in collaboration with the procurement department
  • Provide expertise and contribution to the development of technical supplier procurement documents (including contracts) in collaboration with the procurement department
  • Provide expertise and contribution to the supplier selection as required / in collaboration with the procurement department
  • Responsible for technical participation during the tender process as required / in collaboration with the procurement department
  • Provide technical contribution to the contract award, contract implementation and contract fulfilment as required / in collaboration with  procurement department
  • Responsible for Technical Supplier commercial account and contract management including contract compliance with Technical suppliers
  • Assist with sourcing and negotiation with suppliers to support the management of technical and engineering projects in collaboration with the procurement department
  • Provide commercial and business support to asset management projects
  • Maintain commercial records of major project costs, for historical tracking and continuous improvement purposes
  • Work closely with finance department to accurately report on asset management project costs
  • Provide continuous improvement solutions and support to ensure the Asset Management Department meets improvement goals and targets
  • Undertake any tasks, or projects, deemed safe and competent to do so, by the Asset Management Director
