Our Financial Services client, one of the UK's leading independent providers of discretionary wealth management, wish to recruit an Operations Team Leader to join their team on a Fixed-Term Contract, supporting the team by utilising exceptional leadership until the end of August 2023.
 
Based in the Edinburgh offices, as Operations Team Leader you will be offering award-winning personalised wealth management services, creating financial plans and supporting clients with investment portfolios.
 
Our client are focusing on the people management skills required for this role, someone who can coordinate and monitor work, set clear direction and purpose and who can help develop individuals and the wider team through meaningful development conversations, coaching and feedback.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT 
  • Preferably management or supervisory experience in an operations environment
  • Adaptable to change and ability to supports others through change
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt style and message to suit audience
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Ideally a good understanding of the Financial Services sector
  • Strong Client focus and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Effective time management to support planning and organisation of individual and team workload
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Be able to delegate to the team effectively
  • Proven ability to motivate self and others and use own initiative
  • Practical experience of leading colleagues through change is preferable
  • Good standard of education in GCSEs or equivalent (must include passes in Maths and English)
  • Higher level qualifications such as A Levels or Degree (or equivalents) desirable
  • IOC qualification highly advantageous
  • NVQ Level 3 in Team Leader or equivalent management qualification desirable, but not essential
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Ensure personal and team member understanding and adherence to Risk & Control Framework
  • Ensure delivery of accurate MI and reporting as defined within role
  • Coordinate and monitor team’s work to ensure it is produced in line with client procedures, to a high level of accuracy, in a timely manner and to relevant SLAs or Business Support standards
  • Identify and be able to demonstrate the use of appropriate delegation within your team
  • Promote and take responsibility for building a culture of Continuous Improvement within your team
  • Ensure your team provide an excellent client service, delivering against expectations
  • Plan and monitor delivery of training for team
  • Ensure departmental guides, processes and procedures are maintained effectively
  • Support line manager in oversight and delivery of associated changes or project tasks
  • Deputise for the line manager when required
  • Ensure your Team have regular meaningful Performance Reviews, supported by the correct documentation
  • Take accountability for the completion of activity that contributes towards Employee Engagement
  • Ensure your team adheres to all Company Policies and Regulatory Codes of Conduct, ensuring relevant standards and consequence management are applied as appropriate
  • Be responsible for ensuring that each member of your team is treated fairly and in accordance client guidelines
  • Ensure audit requirements are completed in line with associated deadlines
