As a Technical Assistant, you will provide support to the Fleet Manager and Superintendents to enable them to ensure all company vessels under their control are maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition in accordance with the requirements/instructions issued by the client, the Company’s senior management, flag state administrations and classification societies.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Essential: Fully completed cadetship / HND or equivalent.

Desirable: Degree or equivalent in nautical studies or related discipline.

Desirable: Sailed as a 3rd or 4th Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintain full knowledge of the Company Safety Management System in order to be able to advise the Operations Manager, Technical Manager and Superintendents as required

Assisting the Operations Manager and Technical Manager in preparing, tracking and analysing the various controls and systems as applied to the Fleet
-
Assist with the various audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements

Updating the various Fleet Vessel Databases to ensure that full compliance is maintained by the Fleet Groups

Assisting the Fleet Groups in storing and updating of Tank Inspection Reports, Ship Visit Reports and management of the Trading Certificates
-
Advise Fleet Groups in all aspects of informative circular notices and technical guidance notices from manufacturers and regulatory bodies

Supporting Fleet Groups in organising and maintaining Ships Drawings & Manuals

Be involved with energy efficiency incentives for fleet vessels

Assisting the Fleet Groups in project management of Dry Dockings, including the creation of specification, tendering process and cost analysis

Occasional travel as required
