Technical Maintenance Planning Lead required to join our Gourock based client on a permanent basis.  Reporting to the Head of Engineering Performance and Policy (HoEPP), the Technical Maintenance Planning Lead will be expected to review new and secondhand tonnage Asset Management engineering requirements and ensure they are established, co-ordinated and fed into the department to allow successful technical management from the point of vessel delivery / formal handover for operations.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Hold a seagoing marine engineering or equivalent shore based qualification would be preferable. A qualification in project planning and / or business would be considered advantageous.
  • Have experience of work in vessel management or new build vessel introduction and coordination of maintenance activity, both planned and unplanned.
  • Be able to demonstrate good PC system, organisational, administrative and communication skills and have the ability to organise personal workloads in response to priorities.
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of working on small to medium scale projects and programmes in a similar role
  • Good Strong analytical & reporting skills
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Supporting HoEPP (who is the Asset Management main point of contact with Operational Planning) providing day to day link to New Build, Secondhand and Charter Vessel Projects.
  • Co-ordinating all requests for information and review of documentation ensuring that Asset Management views and requirements are fed into project documentation.
  • Responsible for the creation of the planned maintenance schedule including class survey and inspection requirements, statutory survey and inspection requirements, equipment planned maintenance, condition monitoring regimes and any other maintenance for incoming secondhand and new tonnage.
  • For Secondhand or Charter tonnage this will include establishing the full maintenance baseline, what surveys, inspections and maintenance has been completed at date of handover and anything that is outstanding, historical dry dockings dates and work and current running hours of relevant equipment. Identification of any anomalies and working with owners, through the Operational Planning Project Teams, to ensure the vessel is technically ready for handover with no significant maintenance outstanding that would risk service or require drop in service prior to the first overhaul
  • Identifying the overhaul and docking schedule, establishing the baseline for overhaul schedule once in service including preferred yard, date and interaction with vessel deployment and cascade plans for overhaul relief programme. Where necessary identify any requirement for a year on year movement of scheduled docking over time in order to establish best date for long term docking schedule.
  • Ensuring the Maintenance Management / Enterprise Asset Management System is updated with the planned maintenance schedule.
  • Ensuring all technical documentation / processes / software and websites are updated to take into account introduction (and removal) of tonnage.
  • Asset Management lead for secondhand, charter and new vessel inspection visits, liaison with Operational Planning to establish detail above and obtain all technical documentation, certification dates, manuals, service bulletins, technical bulletins and any other relevant information.
  • Review of all relevant equipment lists, confirmation that all equipment is included, identification of any obsolete equipment.
  • Identification of all OEM Technical Bulletins and Service instructions, confirmation that they have all been enacted or identification of any that remain and will need to be enacted post handover.
  • Asset Management lead for identification of all technical defects on the vessel, for new tonnage any warrantee / guarantee defects. Establishment and agreement of plans to resolve and upload of defects onto systems to ensure all are recorded at the point of handover.
  • Handover to nominated Technical Managers / Supervisors of all the detail required for them to successfully take responsibility for the vessel at the point of handover.
  • Identification and mitigation of any risks to delivery or introduction of new, secondhand and charter tonnage.
  • To support Operational Planning and Asset Management Continual Improvement processes and improve the processes and procedures for introduction of new, secondhand and charter tonnage, ensuring lessons are identified and learned post every event and shared and aligned with Operational Planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all business departments but specifically working closely within their own department, Operational Planning, Operations, finance, procurement and HSQE
  • Act as Asset Management lead, via Operational Planning, for liaison between the company, contractors, classification society, and flag state as required on activities related to introduction of new, secondhand and charter tonnage.
  • Utilise communication and influencing skills to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Any other new, secondhand and charter tonnage projects duties required as agreed HoEPP and the Operational Planning team.
 
REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER 
 
£52,229 - £65,000 (dependant on experience)
