Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Technical Services Manager will support the roll out of the Asset Management business plan and objectives.
 
As Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the management and performance of the Shore Services department to provide comprehensive technical support to the small vessel fleet, the Asset Management Department and when required the major vessel fleet.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
 
  • You will have professional qualifications in Engineering and or management.
  • Experience within maritime industry is preferred; you must be capable of exercising sound judgement in both proactive and reactive vessel operation and team management scenarios.
  • Have experience of working as a Manager in a similar post demonstrating experience of prioritisation, decision-making and producing results in a high pressure environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of Project Management & Implementation and an awareness of change management. Showing experience in planning, resource management and reporting.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, mobile technology and asset management systems.
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to build relationships all levels. Work cooperatively and supportively with colleagues, developing positive, open working relationships.
  • Have integrity and be passionate about what they do, demonstrating and working by the company values.
  • Have a strong work and environmental ethic and eagerness to explore solutions to problems.

JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
  • In conjunction with the Head of Technical Services lead and manage the Shore Services team to achieve the standards and objectives set in line with the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Liaise with the Technical Services Team with regards to vessel performance, working towards ensuring that vessel reliability and availability targets are achieved.
  • In conjunction with the Technical Services Team ensure that the vessels are economically and efficiently maintained to be able to deliver a reliable and punctual service against the timetable.

  • Comply with and promote safety rules and procedures, challenge unsafe behaviour, and ensure all accidents, near misses are reported in line with the company's lifesaving rules.
  • Ensuring good management processes and procedures are in place to ensure high performance of a safe, reliable team.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Technical Services, identify opportunities for development and continuously improve across all areas of the Technical Services team.
  • Responsible for the management & delivery of development and continuous improvements initiatives across the Shore Services teams.
  • Responsible for engineering and electrical teams, their development and management. This will be achieved by regular one to ones, yearly objectives with mid-year reviews underpinned by the organisational goals that will allow us to collectively achieve our mission and vision.
  • Responsible for the oversight and operational management of the Shore Services Budget. Tracking and evaluating the true maintenance costs for the small vessel fleet.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the ISM code in your area of responsibility are up to date including maintenance records and spare parts control.
  • Provide support and ensure follow-up is accomplished to conclusion for any internal or external audits, management reports or inspections in your area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for ensuring the success & delivery of change programme initiatives that impact the shore services team that originate from the CHFS2 contract commitments and budgets.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Head of Asset Management, providing technical operations input & support for vessel dry dock/ overhaul programs.
