The Application Support Analyst will join our clients’ global IT team who are responsible for the delivery and operations of the business systems.  As the Application Support Analyst you will be require to apply critical thinking in supporting and delivering services to a constantly evolving business and technical landscape.
 
Please note this position is based in Glasgow on a 12 month contract. 
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • 3 - 5 years working with process/functional owners and providing 2nd level operational support for large business
  • Experience with RFPs, and a full application lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt; to understand business usage of the system and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous quality improvement, management information systems techniques, and change control procedures.
  • Self-starter and results driven. Able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, with minimum guidance or prompting. Proactive, dependable and positive attitude
  • Coordinating application deployments across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Solid SQL querying experience, and experience with report writing software.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent English communication skills. Must be comfortable delivering presentations, and leading meetings.
  • Flexibility to provide afterhours support. Experience supporting remote locations in multiple time zones is an asset.
  • Available to travel to regional offices and to vessels to service software, if required
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Establish strong relationships with process stakeholders to understand and prioritize issues, work items, initiatives, and projects that deliver value. Create specifications, functional and technical design documents, process/data maps, and use cases. Challenge the status quo.
  • Facilitate and liaise between application super users and IT technical teams where there are interdependencies with other applications. Lead regression and integration testing based on updates to interdependent applications.
  • Identify, track and resolve application problems on a day-to-day basis, including evening and weekend support, as required. Coordinates the problem resolution aboard ships
  • Responsible for your application environments to support unit, regression, and user acceptance testing. Work with other Analysts on designing and operating data interfaces and APIs.
  • Ensure the stability of the Vessel model disk standard through change management and regression testing procedures.
  • Work with IT team, vendors, and departments to champion data integrity and reliability through education and monitoring. Mentor junior IT members.
  • Support the new vessel onboarding process
  • Administer routine and non-routine procedures for application use and security access; monitors KPIs and gathers performance metrics for the systems assigned.
  • Create or update standardized application support documentation.
  • Coordinate with the global Vessel Systems Support group to test, implement, and support solutions on the Vessels.
  • Work with Analytics team in identifying table relationships and data behaviour within your supported system.
