Our client requires an Assistant Personnel Officer to arrange and coordinate all aspects relative to sea staff being employed, paid, appointed, joining and leaving Company vessels, all in accordance with the company Quality Management System and associated work processes and client specific requirements
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Previous administration experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Any HR / Personnel experience would be desirable but not essential
 
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
 
  • To assist with any administration duties to include data entry, filing and extensive use and maintenance of the crewing system
  • To follow documents check process and recruitment procedures as defined in MPD Manual
  • Ensuring newly recruited and promoted personnel are provided with Company / Client policies and procedures
  • To issue MLC Employment Agreements for sea staff and relevant joining documents
  • Monitoring all employee documentation and ensuring necessary compliance is maintained
  • To maintain accurate and up to date crew lists reflecting crew changes carried out
  • To input and update crewing system and personnel file in a timely manner, for maintenance of records and payroll purposes
  • Processing Payrolls within deadlines, including allotments, timesheets, expenses and liaising with the Accounts Department to ensure payments are made in timely manner
  • To inform the Fleet Personnel Manager / Offshore Crew Manager of any problem or potential problem, which may significantly impact on the manning requirement
  • Providing information for P&I claims
  • To provide assistance in preparing monthly reports e.g. turnover, dismissals, and statistics. 
  • To review and provide feedback for opportunities for improvement or amendments to MPD Manual
  • To promote and comply with the company’s “Safety and Environmental Policy”.
  • Plus any other duties as may be reasonably required of you by the Management or Senior Management of the Company.
