The Business Support Technician will be responsible for delivering quality technical support services for our client, a large ship-owner/manager based in Glasgow.
Main Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot I.T issues from Junior Business Support Technician.
  • Ensure business support processes are followed and documented.
  • Ensure that the asset database is maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for installing authorised software on desktops/laptops as required.
  • Highlighting improvements to processes to the Business Support Team Leader.
  • Responsible for supporting issues with I.T equipment including scanners and printers.
  • Working closely with stakeholders in the business to improve customer relations and
  • technical support.
  • Ensure that all calls are logged and the system is kept up to date.
  • You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered
  • to be relevant to your position
This role will involve travelling to various destinations around the world. To be considered
candidates must have a current clean UK driving license and Current UK Passport.
In order to be successful for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • HNC in I.T related discipline or equivalent
  • Previous helpdesk experience
  • Experience supporting PC hardware, printers, scanners, peripherals and mobile devices.
  • Experience of client PC connectivity (VPN, Ethernet and TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, and MS Office packages.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Can-do attitude and a passion for learning new technology
  • Flexible
  • Strong communication skills
  • Degree in I.T related discipline or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of Active Directory
