Our client, an international Oil, Gas, Energy and Marine company, based in Dundee, requires a Commercial Manager to ensure that commercial strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the requirements of the customer and the Group. 
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
 
Essential:
  • Demonstratable experience within a Commercial Manager position.
  • Strong Oil & Gas, Energy Sector commercial accumun and business understanding.
  • Direct experience of managing, leading and mentoring a Commercial Team.
  • Team orientated with strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of the oil, gas, energy or Marine sectors. 
  • Experience of leading change in an organisation to keep pace with growth. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages – Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Desirable:
  • Use of software associated with Customer Relationship Management.  
  • Previous working experience as a Legal Counsel.
  • Technically aptitude.
  • Global experience. 
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
  • Direct Leadership of Commercial Team (3 persons) in Dundee plus provide support for global based commercial colleagues.
  • Be champion for all commercial processes including Deal Review.
  • Mentor and coach Commercial team.
  • Pull together quotations and tenders for clients.
  • Head up resolution of customer complaints or warranty issues with various internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for overseeing the co-ordinated preparation, collation and submission of Tenders, RFQs etc.
  • Develop and expand the commercial knowledge of the commercial team.
  • Review commercial plans to deliver maximum return.
  • Identify and implement improvements to commercial procedures.
  • Develop and work to Standard Operating Procedures for commercial related areas.
  • Develop set KPI’s for the commercial team.
  • Assist Group Business Development director and work as part of a cohesive and collaborative team.
  • Update CRM to ensure accurate information is available for forecasting. 
  • Provide monthly reports on quotes, win/loss and regional forecasts. 
  • Ensure contract rates and terms are adhered to when creating quotations.
  • Build Competitor pricing intel.
  • Having regard to pricing strategy, reviewing and reporting on trends.
  • Provide commercial support to the Operations, Finance and Business Development teams and any other relevant Group Functions.
  • Monitor Group customer and Partner contracts throughout their life cycles, working with internal stakeholders for updates and renewals.
  • Developing an awareness of Operator Equipment Specifications and regional standards e.g. Petronas Spec, NORSOK etc, and being aware of their impact on contracts.
  • Assess commercial risks and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved.
  • Ensure CRM is maintained, utilised and up to date.
  • Make a proactive contribution to the successful implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and processes.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned.
