We have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our ship management client on a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Client Reporting Team Leader, you will be responsible for assisting the team with the accounts for our client’s technically managed fleet. 
 
As Finance Assistant, you will be getting the opportunity to work as part of the busy and dynamic Finance Department, demonstrating a flexible and committed approach to the role.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • HND, AAT or ACCA part-qualified or equivalent experience (Study support could be available for training in a professional qualification)
  • 1-2 years’ experience within a similar role
  • Accountancy background/Industry Experience not essential but highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills – with the ability to identify and prioritize key activities
  • Accuracy with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
  • Client Driven and Commercially aware
  • Excellent Communication skills with the ability to relay financial information clearly within a Client Reporting Business
  • An approachable individual, with the ability to build strong working relationships within a team environment and interface with Operations and Accounts Payable
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Creating bank payments
  • Posting General Ledger Journals
  • Completing Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Chasing up approvals of invoices/Purchase orders
  • Assist the Client Reporting Leader in preparation of the Daily Running Costs for our client’s Managed Vessels
  • Set up Payments on Agresso
  • Identify opportunities to implement new processes/procedures to drive efficiencies
  • Ad-hoc requests
