GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently recruiting for Land Cable Engineers for our Greenwich based client. You will be responsible for providing survey, engineering and supervision for Land Cable/System Earth Installation and Jointing Operations managed by the Marine Department.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

2 years or more relevant work experience with preferably an engineering background;

Good Office computer skills;

Knowledge of fibre optics and electrics;

Proactive and reliable;

Ability to use own initiative;

Prepared to travel and work in foreign countries.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Project planning and cost management;
-
Customer liaison;
-
Identification of suitable local resources and subcontract management;
-
Conduct site surveys including earth resistivity measurements;
-
Engineering design of Land Cable and System Earth installations;
-
Production of drawings for installation including Land Route Diagrams;
-
Site survey, on site and as-built reporting;
-
Un-repeatered system testing, both on land and at sea;
-
Jointing and testing of Land Cable, Beach Joints and System Earths;
-
Liaison with the Calais Cable factory and Line Project Managers;
-
Detailing procedures and completing H&S Risk Assessments.
