We are seeking an experienced Marine Manager with a minimum of 15yrs experience to join our client in the US (East Coast)
The Marine Manager will be expected to:

Implement good Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental practices

Maintaining and operating the dry docks within a given budget at all times, insuring that class and state surveys are conducted in a timely manner & certificates are maintained.

Administration and implementation of company procedures and work instructions for time and attendance, tool box talks, employee performance, permit to work system and training needs of employees
You will be working alongside the Production Director and Technical, Planning and IT Director to evaluate the individual requirements for all current and future dock maintenance programs. There will be regular contact with the Project / Trade Managers and Dock masters to ensure the project requirements and compliance are on schedule.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

At least 15 years’ experience in the marine industry with 10 years at supervisory level

At least 5 years’ experience with specific familiarity in steel repair and coating of steel

STCW, Class 2 Foreign Going or previous experience as a Manager in a Shipyard environment

Excellent Computer skills

The ability to work on complex assignments with minimum supervision

An all-around understanding of marine operations within a shipyard environment as well as proven experience in running planned maintenance systems
-
A good understanding of stability, ballast systems, load distribution and its’ effects.

Experience in ship handling and mooring

An understanding of block settings, block loadings and its’ effects
-
The ability to run a department (up to 80 staff members)
