Our Glasgow based client is looking for a Quality Assurance and Safety Assistant who will Assist in preparation, issuing and revision of company manuals and documents in accordance with document control procedures.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Higher standard of education or experience within the Marine Industry (seagoing or shore based) preferably with Marine Qualifications.

A working knowledge of ISO Standards

Microsoft Word & Excel Programs.

A good standard of written and verbal English.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist in administration of the company’s SMS database.
-
Assist in compiling initial supply of SMS manuals and security items for new vessels into management. To coordinate with the relevant Recognised Organisation (RO) for the approval of ship’s manuals.

Draft and distribute company safety circulars.
-
Assist in administration and implementation of office safety culture and procedures.
-
Provide training in Quality Systems and SMS database for company employees.
-
Attend company vessels for crew training in SMS procedures.
-
Assist vessels with resolving issues related to Vessel Reporting Program.
-
Conduct internal auditing of office systems in accordance with audit plan.
-
Assist in audits of third-party suppliers as required.
-
Assist in analysis of SMS data and statistics.
-
Assist in preparation of quarterly HSE statistics and fleet performance KPIs.
-
In liaison with the US partner in compliance coordinate and arrange USA Federal and state specific vessel contingency plans.

Liaise with oil spill response and marine salvage and firefighting companies to ensure coverage for vessels where required.

Submission of electronic notice of intent (eNOI) and annual VGP reports to USA EPA for vessels trading to the USA.

Assist with management of office PPE stock. 1

Maintain marine publications for our client’s libraries.

Attend company seminars.
