Our Wind Energy client requires a SHEQ Manager to lead the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality functions for the business.
 
The role is broad in scope and is critical to ensure continued delivery of strong SHEQ processes, procedures and people across the business.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and dynamic company and work in a growing area. It would suit experienced SHEQ professionals within the wind sector looking for an opportunity to work in a more entrepreneurial environment or those outside of the wind sector with relevant construction or site safety experience looking to enter the wind sector.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in SHEQ role
  • HND or degree educated, with NEBOSH Certificate in safety training and Environmental IOSH
  • A high level of practical plant, PPE, training and operational experience
  • Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety requirements and standards. Preferably including Wind Turbine Safety Rules and GWO’s basic safety training requirements and / or experience with CDM regulations
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/ 14001 and OHSAS18001 and their application
  • Passionate about safety
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A full UK driving license
 
JOB DESCRIPTION 
  • Responsible for the existing Integrated Management System (IMS) and associated accreditations; including ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 and ensuring adherence to them, their continual development and understanding of them across the business
  • Responsible for site and business SHEQ performance and taking a proactive approach to identify risks and improve performance.
  • Provide SHEQ input to all new site projects including input to risk assessments, method statements etc
  • Review SHEQ competences and processes of any 3rd party suppliers prior to engaging in the supply of services.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting SHEQ performance and KPIs and any associated investigations / audits.
  • Liaising with relevant SHEQ bodies and the wind sector to ensure we are up-to-date with industry legislation and best practices.
