Simulator Lecturer

Simulation Lecturer required to join a Maritime Education provider based in Glasgow, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students in a wide range of maritime/nautical subjects at NC, HNC and HND level, including STCW short courses as appropriate; in addition to assisting with the development of student’s transferable skills through a structured training programme. Prior knowledge of these subjects is not essential to this role as training will be provided. 
Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Disclosure Check & Certificate of Good Conduct and must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Degree Level Qualification in STEM discipline or HND Nautical Science or Equivalent.
  • Educational teaching qualification or Train the Trainer certification. - Preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience. - Preferred.
  • Masters or Chief Mates Licence.
  • Experience of working in a maritime environment.
  • Passionate about supporting and motivating students.
  • Competent user of MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
  • Experience in a teaching or training role is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated, reliant and have a desire to teach.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate learning to individuals with a variety of learning needs.
  • Contribute to the work of academic committees.
  • Contribute to company QM and learning support systems.
  • Contribute to management and development of courses including short courses.
  • Participate in our client’s marketing and other external events.
  • Undertake consultancy and research activities.
  • Contribute to the appropriate committees.
  • Contribute to academic innovation.
  • Promote the Equality Policy in terms of staff/students.
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are observed.
Salary from £35,170 - £43,357 per annum.
