We are looking for a Transfers Manager to join our Financial Services client in Newcastle.

Our client is one of the UK’s leading providers of personalised, discretionary wealth management services, offering investment management and financial planning services to meet the needs of investors and intermediaries.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manager to join the Operations team in Newcastle.  The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong people management skills, excellent communication and organisation skills, and have experience delivering change within an Investment Operations environment.

Skills required:

  • Experience within a people management role
  • Experience within the Financial Sector is preferred
  • Adaptable to change and ability to lead others through change
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt style and message to suit audience
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • Understanding of the Financial Services sector is desirable
  • Excellent time management to deliver effective planning and organisation
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Be able to delegate to the team effectively
  • Proven ability to motivate self and use own initiative
  • Experience of supporting internal and external stakeholder relationships

Qualifications:

  • Good standard of education in GCSEs or equivalent (must include passes in Maths and English)
  • Higher level qualifications such as A Levels or Degree (or equivalents) are desirable
  • IOC Merit qualification, is required / to be obtained within 12 months in role
  • NVQ Level 3 in Team Leader or equivalent management qualification is desirable

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Transfers Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility or the receipt and management of all transfer instructions in line with department SLA’s.
  • Liaising with Counterparties to arrange the transfer of assets
  • Monitor the timely settlement of assets utilising various custodians and platforms
  • Provide regular and conclusive updates to Client Facing Team and relevant stakeholders
  • Chair weekly Transfers Control Meeting analysing any aged or problematic transfers

Other responsibilities include the following: 

  • Ensure personal and team member understanding and adherence to Risk and Control, Policy Frameworks specific to the role
  • Ensure procedures are adhered to and worked from to ensure a high level of accuracy and delivery of service in a timely manner and to relevant SLAs or Business Support standards
  • Effectively plan and manage resource across Transfers, ensuring all deliverables are met within your area
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the appropriate level of escalation and successful resolution of risks and issues.
  • Embed and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement within your team
  • Promote a culture of excellent client service, delivering against expectations and keeping all stakeholders updated
  • Formally review and sign off departmental procedures in line with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Proactively manage all change initiatives ensuring timely delivery of allocated responsibilities 
  • Define reporting requirements and ensure the accurate delivery and effective use of MI
  • Attend all relevant forums and committees as appropriate for role
  • Take responsibility for the timely and accurate delivery of all Audit requirements
