Our marine client requires a Workshop Team Leader to join their expanding terminal and team in Liverpool. As a Workshop Team Leader you will be responsible to maintain all of the Ports plant equipment, with the workforce available, ensuring that it is kept in a good working order & meets legal specification.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

A time served apprentice or equivalent and be able to carry out mechanical and electrical work, diagnostics and repairs.

Experience in mechanical fault finding and repair techniques.

Experience in a similar role working with heavy plant and machinery.

Supervisory experience would be advantageous.

It is essential you have a pro-active approach towards problem solving, workload and time management with good knowledge of Health and Safety.

You will have good interpersonal and communication skills as well as proficiency with bespoke and Microsoft systems.

You must be a self-motivated individual.

Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies.

You must be able to work within a team and lead a team.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and correct manner.

To assist the Workshop Manager with the daily management of workload.
-
The prioritisation of workload to ensure the maximum availability of equipment for the port operation.

To deputise for the workshop manager in their absence.
-
Ensure that work is carried out in a safe and correct manner, abiding by pre-set procedures.
-
Carry out planned inspections and repairs as instructed.
-
Ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained and functions in the correct manner.

Ensure that all repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
-
Conduct spot checks on work undertaken within the workshops, ensuring any equipment leaving the workshops is roadworthy and in a clean condition.

Ensure all paperwork is compiled correctly.

Ensure all parts used are booked out correctly, maintaining the correct audit trail of stock holdings.

Carry out H&S inspection/tests as detailed in the H&S folder, reporting any anomalies to the workshop manager.

To assist the Workshop Manager in maintaining a high level of H&S practices at all times, particularly Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments within their area.

Conduct disciplinary and accident investigations, when requested to do so.

Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are followed, and a positive image of the Company maintained.

Undertake any training, determined by management, enabling the post holder to fulfil the role efficiently.
